Moody Campus Orchestra

The Moody Campus Orchestra consists of students and faculty members from Moody Bible Institute, and musicians from the local community. Performing a diverse repertoire, the Orchestra plays classical and modern music and arrangements of church music. The Campus Orchestra’s ministry is to share the joy of music and our faith in God through music. Strong community relationships are built and maintained as the orchestra performs in venues including churches and schools locally and beyond.

Entrance Requirements

Membership in the Moody Campus Orchestra is open upon audition to qualified undergraduate students, Moody employees, and musicians in the community. You do not have to supply your own instrument; Moody can supply one for you. Auditions take place the week before school begins in August.

A typical audition for the Moody Campus Orchestra includes:

  • playing two contrasting pieces (appropriate pieces include those used for contests, etudes from private lessons, or solos played at church)
  • scales from memory
  • sight-reading

Audition by recorded materials is accepted. Provide the links or send material to the conductor. Contact the conductor with questions or to schedule an audition: jaehyeok.jang@moody.edu.
