Moody is not requiring employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. While Moody has not required employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the Governor of Illinois’ Executive Order mandates all public and private higher education institutions adhere to a masking and vaccination mandate. This vaccination mandate requires all covered higher education employees and students to provide proof of 1) vaccination, or 2) medical exemption, or 3) religious exemption.  If a student or employee has exemptions listed in 2 or 3 above, they must submit to weekly testing. The Executive Order also requires masks to be worn when in an indoor public place, regardless of vaccination status. This mandate, however, does not apply to employees who are fully remote and do not have any need to travel to campus.

Human Resources will work with your department managers to identify who is actually covered under this state mandate and will contact all employees working in Chicago, as identified by their department, to view their confirmation of vaccination, discuss medical or religious exemption. Forms to apply for these exemptions are under COVID-19 Resources in the Staff tab in MyMoody.

Moody leadership respects and honors everyone’s personal choice and religious convictions regarding vaccination, while maintaining the health and safety of our staff and students, and compliance with state laws. Therefore, we support your right to apply for available medical or religious exemptions from the vaccination mandate. We have a simple exemption application process. Employees wanting to claim a medical or religious exemption will need to complete the Religious Exemption form posted under the COVID-19 Resources section of MyMoody on the Staff tab.

All Chicago residents ages 12+ are eligible to receive the vaccine. Non-Chicago area employees can inquire with their State/Local Department of Health.

Fully vaccinated individuals are exempt from Close Contact Quarantine.

All employees are expected to follow all local and state mandates.

Proof of vaccination or exemption is required for all Chicago and Spokane employees. HR will contact those in Chicago as appropriate. Spokane employees are to following the State of Washington guidelines for submission. We ask you to maintain the guidelines that we are following to keep our workplace safe.

There is no cost for the vaccine. However, vaccination providers can charge an administration fee for giving the shot that is reimbursed by the patient’s public or private insurance company or, for uninsured patients, by the Health Resources and Services Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. No one can be denied a vaccine if they are unable to pay a vaccine administration fee. The administrative fees cannot be passed on to the patient in the form of a co-pay or deductible. The City of Chicago and the state of Illinois currently (as of September 2, 2021) have standing mandates requiring masks in public settings while indoors on Moody’s Chicago campus, regardless of vaccination status.

Masks can be removed while eating and/or drinking, as well as when working in your office or cubicle if social distancing of six feet can be maintained. Masks can also be removed if employees are static and maintaining at least six feet from all other individuals such as in an office space, or presenters in chapel and faculty in classrooms. Submit the COVID-19 Submission Form if you experience COVID-19 symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or come into close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19. We have a medical protocol that walks with you as you move to recovery.

If your temperature reaches a fever level of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (or 38 degrees Celsius) or above, do not come to work and take steps to be tested for COVID-19. Submit the COVID-19 Submission Form to notify us of your symptoms.

Submit the COVID-19 Submission Form to report your close contact with someone. If you are listed as a close contact with someone who tests positive on campus, you will receive an email with details regarding quarantining and testing. Moody determines the duration of the quarantine based on CDC guidance.

If you are fully vaccinated or have had COVID-19 within the past 3 months, you are exempt from completing a Close Contact Quarantine.

No. Due to how long it can take the virus to show up in your system, a negative test does not mean you won’t develop the infection later. Symptomatic individuals are required to isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms, in accordance with CDC guidance.

No. Please bring your own face masks when you are working at a Moody location. If unvaccinated, you are expected to wear face masks in public areas on campus. Vaccinated and unvaccinated may still be required to wear face masks in public areas based upon State/Local guidelines.
