Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology

With a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, students learn to apply clinical training, biblical insight and spiritual integration to the counseling profession—including individual, family, marital, premarital, child and adolescent.

This degree prepares you to serve Christ in a wide array of counseling-related ministries. Become a Christian counselor or clinical therapist. Serve as a church ministry leader, in a local agency or in private practice.

This program equips you for professional licensure and enables you to complete 12 to 15 months of supervised practicum and internship experience.

Faculty

Learn from faculty mentors with expertise in a variety of counseling disciplines. Each professor has the academic knowledge and clinical experience to equip you with the skills you need to be a successful counselor.

Dr. John Restum has training in both clinical psychology and theology, bringing an integration of both to his classroom and clinic work. Professionally, Dr. Restum provides clinical consultation with the Wayne County Sheriff and Detroit Police Departments.

Dr. James Wood has taught and counseled at Christian schools, hospitals, churches and missions organizations. Additionally, he has maintained a private clinical practice for over 15 years.
