Officer Certification

Public Safety is staffed by a combination of full-time police officers, full-time non-sworn staff, part-time professional staff, and part-time student employees. All full-time police officers have successfully completed basic police academy and are certified by the state of Illinois.

Moody supplements state certification with additional training requirements for first aid, fire safety, emergency operations procedures, use of force, criminal investigation, and trauma informed sexual assault response. Other professional development spans a variety of disciplines. The majority of our officers also have Crisis Intervention Training that educates them on how to effectively respond to a mental health crisis.

Moody Public Safety works with Residence Life, the dean of students, and Counseling Services to safely to effectively de-escalate mental health crises and other potentially dangerous situations at hand.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

Moody Bible Institute’s Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report is required by federal law and contains policy statements, crime statistics and fire-related information for each campus. The report addresses the policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security, including policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses.

Three years’ worth of statistics are included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus; in or on off-campus buildings; property owned or controlled by the school; and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus.
