Moody Bible Institute
Moody Bible Institute began as an idea—that ordinary people could be transformed by the clear, practical teaching of God’s Word. In 1886 Dwight L. Moody forged a coalition of Chicago business leaders who supported his vision of a Bible training center in an urban setting. Today there are over 47,500 Moody alumni, serving God’s people around the world.
Online
In 1901 Moody pioneered distance learning—college courses through the mail. Now Moody offers online courses through Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary.
Moody Theological Seminary
In 1985 Moody Bible Institute started a graduate school in Chicago to provide biblical leadership training, then added a Michigan campus in 2010 and online degrees in 2011. Moody Theological Seminary offers eight master’s degrees and five graduate certificates.

In 1926 WMBI began as one of the first Christian stations. Today Moody Radio produces and distributes original content that helps listeners around the world grow in Christ.
Today in the Word
In 1988 Today in the Word ran its first issue—a daily devotional to help readers study the Bible. Today it gives biblical perspective and truth to readers across the globe.
Moody Publishers
In 1894 D. L. Moody started publishing affordable, Bible-centered Christian books, distributed by horse-drawn wagon. Today’s books are read and studied around the world.
