External Scholarships
External scholarships are awarded from organizations not necessarily affiliated with Moody Bible Institute. These funds are awarded based on academic achievement, talent or other criteria. Scholarships usually do not need to be repaid.
Application Process
1. Apply for scholarships and grants.
Research external scholarships and grants to see if you qualify for awards. Churches, denominations, ministries and other organizations often present scholarships to active participants.

2. Organization sends check to Moody.
If you are awarded a scholarship or grant, the organization can mail the check to Moody Bible Institute at the following address:

All such checks must be sent with the student's name and ID number.
3. Moody will confirm received check.
When the check has been received, it will be added to your student account, and you will receive an email notification.
4. Awards applied.
Your award will be applied to your student bill (as "Financial Aid" in myMoody). The remaining balance must be paid.

External Scholarship Searches
External scholarship searches require you to complete a short survey. Most scholarship searches will then match prospective donors up with prospective students. You may then be asked to complete an additional scholarship application for that specific scholarship. As a rule, we encourage students to avoid searches that charge a fee.

Graduate
P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship
For international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada.
Baptist Foundation of Illinois
$1,000 award for a member in good standing for at least one year with a church affiliated with Illinois Baptist State Association. Deadline is Feb. 26.
Harvesters Scholarship
Full-time master's level students who are entering the mission field upon graduation. Must have 3.0 GPA or higher. Award varies.
W.B. Small Trust
$2,500 award for full-time M.Div. students. Preference given to Iowans or those with an Iowa connection. Deadline is May 1. Website unavailable. E-mail joblut@mchsi.com for more information.
The 222 Foundation
The 222 Foundation is an outside organization that has awarded a number of our graduate students significant scholarships. In addition to being very helpful financially for our students, they also take an interest in the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of those they take on by connecting them with a mentor in the city.

The Fund for Theological Education
There is aid available for undergraduate and seminary students.
Free Will Scholarship
An award of $1,000 for the essay that is the most compelling, motivational, inspirational, persuasive and concise.
Presbyterian Church USA
Presbyterian Church (USA) students have been awarded over $1 million annually.
Military Chaplains Association
For students pursuing future ministry as a military chaplain.
Elder and Leemaur Publishers
This scholarship is available to current undergraduate students in any field of study and any student in either junior or senior high school. Recipients of the scholarships will be determined based on quality of the 500 word essay submitted. Visit the website for topics and deadlines.
AES Engineers Scholarship
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking engineering courses to be eligible. Student must submit a 1,000 word essay. The awards are for $500.
Gate's Millennium Scholars
The purpose of the Gates Millennium Scholars program is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need.
Through the Looking Glass
Through the Looking Glass and its National Center for Parents with Disabilities and Their Families are pleased to announce new scholarships specifically for college students who have parents with disabilities. To be eligible, a student must be currently enrolled in a college or university, be 21 years old or younger, and have at least one parent with a disability. Individuals may submit only one application per award period.
