Dr. Suchitha Goneh, a current student at Moody Theological Seminary pursuing an MA in Biblical Studies, recently became the first individual in the legal profession to be nominated for the National Citizenship Gold Medal Award. This award is given by the Indian government to individuals who have contributed substantial research towards national and international development. Dr. Goneh’s research focuses on the integration of immigration law, health care, human rights, and finance. Her most recent project was an investigation in Indian healthcare law which included a plan for establishing medical facilities all over the country of India that would not cause financial burden on the government and citizens.

Dr. Goneh believes her Moody education helping her become a woman like Deborah from the book of Judges, someone who helps strengthen people physically as well as spiritually in times of crisis. She desires to be involved in legal ministry for the Christian community as a lawyer and professor. Dr. Goneh strongly believes that the study of scripture will equip her for every good work, as 2 Timothy 3:17 states. She is grateful for the spiritual strength she is gaining by studying at Moody because she will be more able to minister to others throughout her legal career.

She finished her Doctoral of Juridical Sciences (SJD) with Honors from Loyola University in 2013 and before coming to United States she worked as a High Court Solicitor and Patent Attorney in India.  She has teaching experiences as an Adjunct Law Professor at Pre-Law School in India.
